Governor Phil Bryant signed Senate Bill 2370 removing the current cap on beer brewed in Mississippi for sale in another state. This opens the possibility for brewing beers over Mississippi’s new (July 1, 2012) 8% ABW for other markets. It will also allow Mississippi breweries to accept contracts to brew higher-alcohol beers for other breweries. Currently, Lazy Magnolia contract brews for Bayou Teche Biere in Louisiana and Old Black Bear in Alabama. Lazy Magnolia also contract brewed for Back Forty Beer in Alabama while they built their brewery.
