Flare Incident – Maple and Brown Sugar Oatmeal Stout
Not only was this the first beer we brought to the public, but it’s also one of our award winning beers. In 2010, we took this beer to the Keg & Barrel 1st Annual Outlaw Homebrew Competition in Hattiesburg, MS and took home First Place Stout and First Place Overall Big Beer Winner.

Ballistic Blonde – Belgium Style Blonde Ale
We brewed this beer the first time in the spring of 2011, so naturally it makes us savor those beautiful Mississippi spring nights. It’s a crisp ale with some subtle fruity notes in the background from the abbey yeast.

Hop Fiasco – India Pale Ale (IPA)
This beer has an explosion of hops containing almost a half pound per five gallons. It is continuously hopped during the boil and then dry hopped to give it tons of hop flavor without making the IBUs unbearable.

Lizard Tale – American Extra Pale Ale
This strong pale ale has been dry-hopped to give it a nice aroma without making it extra bitter and has some citrus back notes. This beer won Peoples’ Choice at the 2011 Hops & Habanas Homebrew Competition.

Lazy Magnolia had hoped to be able to send some of their new beer, Timber Beast, to some of their markets outside of Mississippi in August.

Until MS gets all they need, we will not be offering to any other state.  We are hoping to open up to other markets in August.

Lazy Magnolia Timber Beast update.

I recently checked with the brewery to see if they were going to have some to send outside soon. I was told that none has gone to markets outside of MS, and that it is now looking like the first shipments to hit other states will begin in September.

Gordon Creek Brewery: New Logo & Update

On July 30, 2012, in Brewery News, by Wesley Clark

gordoncreeklogo

Gordon Creek Brewery recently released pictures of their new logo on their Facebook page.  This image is from the back of a shirt printed by Upton Printing with their new logo designed by Whitney Miracle.

We used Whitney Miracle for the logo design because of her other work on beer related graphics experience. Both me and my brother in law have canoed the Gordon’s Creek in Hattiesburg which you have to catch nearly at flood stage to accomplish, this explains the canoe paddles within our logo.

Sam Sorrells on their new logo.

Sam plans to have t-shirts and stickers with the new artwork available in the very near future.

I also spoke with Sam last week regarding their progress on getting approval from the City Of Hattiesburg to open his brewery.

We had a meeting with the City last week about brewing in a Temporary location downtown and we’ve got another meeting planned later this week. The earliest we’ll know for sure if we have their official blessing is early Sept.

. . .

We hope to have more news in a week or two about a location and approval by the City of Hattiesburg.

This may have happened a while back, but I am just posting about it.

We have signed a distribution agreement with Capital City Beverages, and we are working to finalize a contract brewing agreement – we should have more news on that soon.

Lucky Town plans to start out with a company contract brewing their beers until they get their brewhouse up and running.

If you are at the Top Of The Hops Jackson Beer Festival, stop by Lucky Town’s Booth and talk with the guys or pick up some swag.
