Crooked Letter Brewing received the approval they needed to move forward on their proposed brewery at their location behind Broom’s in Ocean Springs. Tonight, the City of Ocean Springs held a planning meeting, and the brewery’s plans were heard and approved. The next step will be State and Federal Licensing. Crooked Letter Brewing plans to be in production later this year. They also recently posted about their equipment shipment on their Facebook page.
Who’s ready to see our Tanks and Kettles?! We’ll be posting pics in the next few days. Stay tuned…. they’ll be on their way shortly!

Crooked Letter Brewing Company is urging everyone to come out in support of our new brewery location, tomorrow evening. The Planning Commission meeting is at 6 PM in the O.S. City Hall. Please, please, please pass this along to everyone you know and urge everyone to show up! This is extremely important to the brewery. If we don’t get this site then it will be at least another few months added on to our opening schedule, not to mention the extra money spent and lost! I hope to see many of you guys and gals there!
In light of the fact that our Ocean Springs Planning meeting is tomorrow at 6pm at the OS City Hall, which we encourage all local fans to attend, we would like to make the following statement, as we are still being asked by new-comers to craft beer, what the difference is between a Brew-Pub and a Brewery in Mississippi.
Here is the run down.
#1 We are a manufacturing facility. This means that we make beer and we ARE NOT A BAR.
#2 Individuals will not be able to buy craft beer direct from Crooked Letter Brewing CO. (Sorry troopers, but that is Da Rulz)
#3 We produce awesome beer then sell it to a distributor.
#4 The distributor comes to us once a week and picks up the fruits of our labor.
#5 The distributor then takes it back to their warehouse for storage.
#6 The distributor sells it to establishments who are legally able to buy and sell beer.
#7 From these very cool places you, the savvy craft beer drinker, will be able to obtain that which is the Crooked Letter awesomeness!
#8 This means if the establishment you are in run out of The Crooked you or they can not come to our facility to get more. The said place that is able to buy and sell beer, that did not buy enough of The Crooked, and has let the river run dry, must call our distributor to obtain the Crooked Letter craft beer from Distributor’s warehouse, not ours.
This is indeed how it works!
Please plan to attend the Planning Commission Meeting Tuesday to show your support.
