All right, you heathens, by special request we’re taking this Coast party north! We’re venturing into the DRY county of Pearl River . (Don’t worry, Picayune is wet.)
Come meet up with us at Fatty’s. Fatty’s has plenty of bottles and taps to quench your thirst. (And some great seafood!)
Wear your Raise Your Pints shirt for a chance to win a little something special. ***BONUS: A special prize to the person who traveled the farthest to party with us.***
You Picayun-ers have no excuses not to attend this Thir(d)sty Thursday. We don’t know when we’ll be back. So make plans to stop by, have a pint or two, kick back and shoot the breeze!
Bring a friend or three! We’ll be signing up new members ($25 annual dues gets you a FREE T-shirt) and have additional T-shirts and pint glasses for sale.
! Help fight the fight to legalize homebrewing and bring a world class beer culture to Mississippi! Let’s make this happen, Pearl River County!
Cheers,
Shannon

We are in talks with Raise Your Pints to host some Beer University classes on some Saturdays this fall. Would start off with a broad scale Beer 101 class and then get into more specific styles after that. Great way to improve your knowledge, taste some different brews and meet other folks that are interested in beer.
I say all that to ask, are you interested? The classes would cost $15 w/ samples included. All the money goes to RYP as well!!

I would like to take a moment to thank every Raise Your Pints volunteer over the last several years for making my time as Secretary of Raise Your Pints AWESOME. To all of you who have volunteered your time and money for the many events and continued to support the Education of Craft Beer through our state, you have my sincere thanks. THANK YOU. For those new volunteers and volunteers to come I would like to show my appreciation now. Raise Your Pints could never have accomplished this cause, this revolution of sorts without YOU volunteering to spread the word and help work events. We still have work to do and Raise Your Pints needs YOU. If you haven’t joined, please consider joining. If you aren’t sure you want to join, volunteer at one of our events and hang out with us. Our work will not end until we have “A Mississippi with a world-class beer culture.”
Some of you may have heard or read Butch’s announcement that he’ll be stepping down as the President of Raise Your Pints effective 31 July. Butch has been extremely important to this movement. His leadership was key in focusing this little group of amateurs and keeping us on track. Thank you Butch. But to all you volunteers do not fear. The Presidency of Raise Your Pints will rest in the abilities Craig Hendry as he takes the reins on 1 August 2012. Todd Parkman will continue on as Vice President and Katie Parkman will continue the fight as Treasurer. We have also invited Shannon Breland to serve as an officer as well.
What some of you may not know is that I will also be stepping down as Secretary of Raise Your Pints effective 1 August 2012. Troy Coll will be taking over as secretary and has already started to fill this position as I have stepped back a bit. I would like to thank you all for the interest and support you have expressed to me and this cause over the last 2 ½ + years as I served with these dedicated grassroots volunteers for Craft Beer. Thanks to all of you that helped us get this law changed.
I will continue with RYP as a non-voting Hattiesburg area coordinator along with Butch for the foreseeable future or until which time I may be called upon again to serve. It has been a pleasure to serve in this non-profit grassroots organization with all of you.
